About us:
Scie-Citizens 2.0 is building upon the work that has been done in the Scie-Citizens project (2017-2019), where partners collected and shared good practices of citizen science initiatives and methods across Europe. Scie-Citizens was awarded a “Good Practice Example” by the European Commission.
Building on the compendium of smart practices achieved in the previous Scie-Citizens project, the overall aim of the Scie-Citizens 2.0 project is to develop innovative tools for educators and citizens helping to build bridges towards science.
We want to create a comprehensive compendium of hands-on methods on how Citizen science can be used and help to improve the competences and knowledge of adult educators. By moving science from academia to a citizens level, we want to increase the participation in science but as well give especially disadvantaged citizens a chance to participate or even initiate research, underlining the idea of common values, civic engagement and participation as well in society.
By moving the idea of citizen science away from higher education or formal school education, we want to create learning opportunities for all citizens and ages, based on the principles of Each-on-teach-one.
